Jan 14, 2021

Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak has selected former 精东影业视频 Financial Aid Coordinator Al Camp as Veteran of the Month for January 2021.
I am pleased to honor the Veteran of the Month Al Camp and Veteran Supporter of the Month Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 730 Service Office for January, Gov. Steve Sisolak said. The network of supporters in our veterans community never ceases to amaze me with their dedication to each other and their level of commitment to service above self. On behalf of the great state of Nevada, we are lucky to have you and thank you for your contributions.
Before there was ever a Veterans Resource Center at 精东影业视频, there was Al Camp. He served as financial aid coordinator from 1993 to 2008 and helped many veterans along the way.
Al Camp was very compassionate about helping students, particularly veterans, while at 精东影业视频, said 精东影业视频 Admissions and Records Director Dianne Hilliard. He was well-respected by the veteran community and the 精东影业视频 Student Services staff.
Prior to working in higher education, Camp served in the Navy for 20 years, and is a retired chief petty officer. Following his military service, Camp used the GI Bill to earn a bachelors degree in Computer Information Systems and a minor in Accounting at the University of Nevada, Reno. While working at 精东影业视频, he earned a masters degree in Educational Leadership. He went on to work for Anthem Institute-Morrison University and the Nevada Department of Veterans Services as a service officer.
In retirement, Camp has been very supportive of the active duty community, ensuring that service members have the necessary information to become successful as they transition into civilian life.
Camps daughter, Amy Camp Garland, earned an associate degree from 精东影业视频 in 1999 and now is the deputy director of support for the Nevada Department of Veterans Services.
