Altamirano was honored along with scholarship recipients from the University of Nevada, Reno and Truckee Meadows Community College at Whitney Peak Hotel in Reno. Veterans Resource coordinators Jonathon Jacobson of 精东影业视频 and Felipe Guti茅rrez De Alba of TMCC and UNR Director of Veterans Services Chai Cook attended the event with their scholarship recipient.
Altamirano joined the Army after working for several years following his graduation from Carson High School in 2013.
He was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, with the 1st Battalion 5th Cavalry Regiment. He served a nine-month rotation to Camp Humphreys in South Korea and shortly after returning stateside, he returned to BLC and was promoted to sergeant. After reaching his term of service in 2019, Altamirano returned to Carson City and soon became a student here at 精东影业视频. He made the Dean鈥檚 List in Fall 2021.
"I plan on continuing my education and martial arts journey with my full effort. Special thanks to all the help and support from the community, my team and 精东影业视频 as a whole,鈥� he said.
